My vision is to see people healed and made whole, free of that which holds them back, and living in healthy, successful relationships, with self, others, and God.

My mission is to use empirically proven therapeutic methods and Biblically grounded truth to empower healing, change, reconciliation, redemption, and wholeness.
I believe that therapy is a process that takes time. I often wish that it would happen more quickly and powerfully, but most often it takes time and progresses in response to intentional and concerted effort.

I specialize in helping couples and families thrive. If one partner suffers from past trauma it can make couples therapy work challenging. I integrate clinical training in EFT & EMDR and biblically sound approaches to life’s struggles.

I have found that integrating empirically proven therapy approaches with biblically grounded principles is a powerful combination for creating restoration, redemption, and transformation. However, I recognize that not everyone wants to include a biblical approach in their counseling. I want to do what you find most comfortable and what works best for you. You will be accepted right where you are without judgment, regardless of religion, race, gender, or sexual orientation. We will explore your goals for counseling, and set a path towards achieving them in the context of your values. I am honored to walk together with you.

My Story
I have had a challenging life journey that has led me to professional counseling. I think my past experiences, hardships, and training make me uniquely and well qualified to be a therapist. I have engaged in multiple careers including certified public accounting, business leadership, pastoral church ministry, head of school for a K-12 Christian school, and now, a licensed professional counselor. Along the way I lost my 4 year-old daughter to a tragic illness, buried my first wife who died from an autoimmune disorder, and married the love of my life, Annie. The big moments in my life have accompanied big transitions in work and ministry. I learned to look to God in these big moments for direction and healing, and I also found the support and help from counselors, family, and friends. I needed to evaluate and assess, and then make decisions for moving forward. In hindsight I am not surprised that this is my profession, since I have been told from my early years that I was a good listener. I hope that we can work together.
